Camp for your health.  Camping not only lets us refresh our bodies, it recharges and relaxes us to help us live healthier lives.  It really is just that simple.

CAMP FOR HEALTH:  TAKE IT IN

What is plentiful when we are camping?  First and foremost:  Fresh air.  It cleanses our lungs, surrounds us 24/7, and it is splendidly refreshing!  Far from being just a lung cleanser, fresh air also positively impacts our sleep, digestion, blood pressure, heart rate, and immune system.  In addition, it just plain increases our sense of happiness and well-being.  Who knew just breathing fresh outdoor air could make such a difference?  For that matter, sunshine is also free, good for us, and ours for the taking on a camping OUTventure.

Most of us spend our time indoors, hidden from the sun.  However when we are camping we are outdoors where the sun can touch our skin.  Magically, our amazing bodies turn this sunlight into calorie free vitamin D!  We don’t need a supplement, and we don’t need to tweak our diet to get this important vitamin.  It strengthens our bones, muscles, and immune system.  Who knew just letting the sun kiss us could be so good for our health?  Just as we take in the good when we go camping, we also let go of the bad.

THEN LET IT GO

Leave the stresses, anxieties, burdens, and worries of daily life at home. Once at the campsite, the mind becomes happily occupied with things which have NOTHING to do with  “normal” day-to-day activities.  Life is immediately changed, and we can literally feel it.

The food is simpler and its preparation is different. Lounging and playing next to a campfire, stream, or lake, the entertainment is conversation, games, or adventure with friends or family.  We disconnect from TV and our phones, blissfully abandoning these technologies for awhile.  The change of scenery and activity, plus the simple freedom from life’s daily grind, if only for a little while, grants the soul space to relax and re-charge.  Go camping and let a lighter spirit emerge.
